It was important to me that the bathroom not look like it was made for a handicapped person. We put in very pretty light fixtures, and pretty wallpaper, plus a glass block wall to separate the shower from the sink.
My roll in shower and my shower chair and the linen closet. The shower curtain is hung from a ceiling track. My roll in shower is not up to the size requirements of the ADA. Since this was a renovation we had to work with what we had. I believe the ADA says that the shower should be 5' x 5'. Mine is 5 feet long
but only about 3 1/2 feet wide. It is big enough for my chair, me and my husband to be in there together.
The vanity with roll under space at the sink.
My makeup table. This was mounted to the vanity so that it can be removed to allow space for a lift if needed for the toilet.
These are the special hinges that you can buy to open the door more than it would on regular hinges. I do remember that we bought some on the Internet for about $15 apiece. You really need to shop around on the
Internet, because the prices vary all over the place and $15 was the cheapest.
